How to Start Your Work Week off Right

Are you one of those people who thinks that Monday should not exist? The weekend is over and another start of the week with it’s boring adult stuff is back to call us to order. But you know, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing at all. Monday offers a perfect excuse to start over, set new goals and leave last week’s worries behind. Here are a few tips to get you off to a great start.

1. Make sure your batteries are charged

And by batteries, we mean your body. To feel energised and ready to rumble on a Monday morning, make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before. Because if you start your week with an empty tank, then it’s bound to be a rough start.

2. Arrive 30 minutes earlier

Come in 30 minutes early, close the door and use this time to plan your week. Get a good overview of what you want to get done and write down your action plan. No calls, no colleagues coming in for a quick chat, and no social media. Just you and your dreams.

3. Tackle the hardest things right away

If you tackle the most boring or difficult tasks first, you will be pumped for the rest of the day. Jump in head first and get those tedious problems out of the way as quickly as possible. That way it’s all smooth sailing for the rest of the day – or maybe even the whole week.

4. Do something you weren’t going to do

Did you know that people who write down their dreams and goals are many times more likely to achieve success than those who don’t. So start mapping out your dreams in life, and make sure you can check something off that list every day. Even the smallest things can make all the difference in the world. Like going to that restaurant you’ve always wanted to go to or calling up an old friend you haven’t seen in years. Try it! You won’t regret it.

5. End it good so you can start it good

Have you ever dreaded going to work on Monday because you are not sure where you left off and what awaits you when you walk into the office? Before you leave the office on Friday, make sure you have tied up any loose ends and cleaned up your workspace. It’s good if you know exactly what you need to do when you get in on Monday. That way, you won’t walk into a mess upon your return.
