We all know 2016 was not the greatest year and honestly, most of us are glad that it’s over. But how can you make sure that 2017 doesn’t become ‘2016 part 2’? It’s time to make sure you leave all your bad habits and less desirable traits behind in 2016, and make this new year your most successful ever!
So what do you need to let go of? Let’s have a look…
Making everything ‘perfect’
This year stop trying to make everything perfect. All it does is slow you down and, if it doesn’t all go to plan, make you feel like a failure (which you are not!). It’s far better to get something working to a good standard, then develop along the way. Get through the small failures, learn fast, then keep moving forward.
On anything and everything! Think a think about all the things you bought last year – how many of them do you still use or enjoy? Probably not that many! Instead of buying every new gadget or spending on knick-knacks, put your money to good use. How about taking up a new course that will further your skills or introduce you to a new hobby? That is far more rewarding than throwing your money on things that end up redundant, lying in your ‘odds and ends’ drawer.
Make 2017 the year of not worrying too much. Realise that for most of life’s big events, you can’t get everything right, all the time – and that’s ok; some things you’ll just have to figure out along the way. Of course you should plan to the best of your abilities, but then just go with the flow. Another thing you shouldn’t do is get caught up overthinking after the event. Take stock, note down what could have gone better and move on!
Not getting the most from your finances!
Make sure you are getting the best from your banking service, and if you are not, make the switch to Monese! With Monese you can get your own UK current account in less than 120 seconds, just using the app, your Passport or National I.D card and any EU address. Once you are signed up you will get your own contactless Visa card, have access to low transfer rates (we are up to 8x cheaper than traditional banks!) and unlike pre-paid cards, with Monese your employers can pay you directly into your account. Find out how you can get your Monese account here.
